Upgrade decoupling capacitor set for TDA 1541 /
TDA 1541A DAC
(Deutsch siehe einige Zeilen darunter)
The TDA 1541 or 1541A is the heart of the digital to analog conversion. Nevertheless
many manufacturers using this DAC in their players keep that important part of decoupling and
composition of the audio signal very cheap and simple.
That is the first point were third party manufacturers, who use these players
and sell them as a high end device, started to optimize the circuit.
Many Philips CD pickups and boards were used in high end audio players then while
the ‚manufacturer‘ only worked on the audio path.
We offer a set of decoupling capacitors, of which are fourteen directly connected
to the TDA1541, of german WIMA MKS2 type, which is known to be extremely good
at that point.
It has a leg spacing of 5mm, if you are lucky you already have some cheap caps
with that spacing on the board, in many cases these capacitiors are mounted on
the back as SMD parts. They have to be removed, when only brigded with the WIMA’s,
the complete capacity will be double as much as needed.
We offer two different values here, 100nF and 220nF. You first have to
look at your service manual or the player which ones are needed.
Beside this kit we offer recap sets for many CD players and other devices. Don’t hesitate to ask for your device if not available.
We offer 60 days unused return
Decoupling capacitors for TDA 1541 and TDA 1541A DA converters
The TDA 1541 or 1541A is the heart of the
digital-to-analog conversion. Nevertheless, precisely this important area, which
first decouples and assembles the audio signal, was usually neglected quite a
bit.
This was the first point where third-party manufacturers started when they
brought their high-end CD players to market with the same pickup lasers and PCBs
from, for example, Philips, with only the audio path being worked on.
Here we offer you a set of decoupling capacitors,
consisting of 14 WIMA MKS2 film capacitors, which do a really good job at this
point.
If you are lucky, your player already has other capacitors with a grid spacing
of 5mm. However, these are usually soldered as SMD components on the back of
the PCB. They must be removed, otherwise the capacitances would add up, and thus
double the capacitance would be present.
Please refer to the service manual to see whether you need 100nF or 220nF for your player.
In addition to this set, we also offer complete capacitor sets for many CD players and other devices. If you don't find your device there, please inquire.
We offer a 60-day right of withdrawal

Installation and Assembly Instructions
This type-specific capacitor kit is intended to replace the
electrolytic capacitors in the respective device, either because the existing
capacitors are defective or because those we offer are superior to the
originally installed ones (upgrade).
1. First, it is advisable to take many photos: of the
wiring, the circuit board, and the capacitors. Since electrolytic capacitors
are mostly polarized (they have a positive and a negative lead or side), it is
helpful to be able to refer to these photos to ensure the correct orientation
when installing the new capacitor (in some cases, you cannot trust the circuit
board markings, if any).
2. Next, assess the situation. Keep in mind that in the vast
majority of cases, the new capacitors have a higher voltage rating 1.
3. Proceed step-by-step: desolder a defective capacitor 2, then solder in a new one.
1 The value of the maximum permissible voltage (V) may match
that of the old capacitor, but it may very well be higher and must NEVER be
lower.
An example:
Your device contains four different types of 47µF capacitors:
47µF/10V, 47µF/25V,
47µF/35V and
47µF/50V.
We would supply you with the following replacement types:
2x 47µF/35V as a replacement for 10V and 25V
2x 47µF/63V as a replacement for 35V and 50V.
Although the original includes a 35V capacitor, a 63V
capacitor is supplied to increase the voltage rating.
2 In individual cases, we recommend desoldering with the help
of desoldering braid and a manual desoldering suction pump. The best option
would be an electronic desoldering station with a heated suction gun, but its
acquisition is usually not worthwhile for smaller projects.
